Good autism treatment is divided into two categories; the first is to have a good ABA intervention, and the second is to have a good ABA therapist.

A good ABA intervention requires an intensive one-on-one format.

Intensive one-to-one treatment is one of the most effective systems for treating autism. Intensive methods ensure that there are enough hours for behavioral therapy. One-on-one can make the therapist more focused on the needs of the schoolchild. Adequate treatment hours, in addition to giving students a greater chance to review, can more prominently highlight the advantages of consistency and repetition.

Advantages of having one-on-one treatment

First, the therapist can focus more on the needs of the students and design all intervention programs suitable for the individuals. Unlike mainstream schools, children with autism are more likely to be distracted and not answering questions under the instructions with many people surround. Therefore, under the one-on-one treatment, the training on children can be emphasized, and the distraction can be adjusted gradually which improve and speed up the learning for children with autism.

Different children with autism have different behavioral problems. Some may be stubborn and refuse to eat, some may have self-stimulation, or have compliance problems ie. are not willing to listen to the teacher’s instructions. These different types of behavioral problems require different intervention programs and approaches. Therefore, only one-on-one treatment can meet the needs of individual needs and adjust their learning progress.

Apart from good intervention, parents should also seek for a good behavioral therapist to provide the most effective autism intervention for their children.

Since the treatment of autism courses should be based on a one-on-one form, good therapists should also adopt a personalization approach. Before teaching, you should first understand the needs of individual students. Teaching in accordance with their aptitude should also be tailored to the needs of students. For example, if a student’s behavioral problems affect his or her progress, therapist should first deal with the behavior of the schoolchildren and improve their learning to learn skills. Another example is the rigidity of a student, which affects their self-help and daily life flexibility . Therapist may need some stime spend on the rigidity of the students to help with their daily life. Therefore, a good behavioral therapist shoud teach in a personalized teaching mode.

At last, good ABA intervention should be able to generalised the skills learnt to the outsside world. In addition to the skills that can be learned in the classroom, students should also be trained to use other skills in other environments. For example, in classes, when they have learnt to listen, keep quiet, they should be able to generalize these skills to the outside classroom.

In addition, the communication between the therapist and the parents is also very important. Through the monthly clinic meeting, parents are better able to understand the child’s current needs and problems. Parents can also practice with their children after the parents’ training with therapists.

As a result, a good ABA intervention! A mile to a smile!
