3-year-old boy having a cold and accidentally discovered autism

The 3-year-old boy, Xiao Ming (a pseudonym), who was brought to a pediatric clinic for cough and cold, found that Xiao Ming’s eyes did not interact with the doctor during the visit. The language expression would only sound “Ah, Ah…” or even Simple waving goodbye actions can not be done who was then referral to rehabilitation clinic examination, only to find that Xiaoming suffers from autism, he has been arranged to receive early treatment courses and functional treatment, hoping to help Xiaoming’s overall learning and development.

Chen Yongnian, a pediatrician at National Taiwan University Hospital in Hsinchu, said that children of different ages should have attainable learning and development goals. Some parents have the myth thinking that children are only having language delay. However, this may be a warning message for developmental disorder. They should seek medical attention and follow-up as soon as possible.
