What Is BCBA?

Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is a graduate-level certification in behavior analysis. It is a standard set by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). BCBAs are qualified to supervise the work of BCaBAs and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) in implementing behavior-analytic interventions. They design and implement treatment plans and serve as supervisors and behavior consultants. BCaBAs require supervision from BCBAs but can supervise RBTs.

About BACB Organization

BACB, a non-profit organization established in 1998 in Florida, sets the minimum standard for behavior analysts. It has expanded internationally since 2000. The BCBA requirements are regularly updated by industry professionals. Currently, there are 22,620 behavior analysts worldwide, with certification courses offered by universities globally. Hong Kong and mainland China have 43 and around 48 behavior analysts respectively, comprising only 1.7% of the BCBA population in Florida.

Is BCBA/QBA Credential Equivalent to Autism Expert?

BCBA or QBA is a qualification for behavior analysts, but it doesn’t make someone an autism expert. It’s crucial to inquire about their certification date and autism training when approached by a BCBA/QBA. This ensures clarification on their expertise in the field.

Our Supervisors Are BCBAs

BCBA is the abbreviation of “Board Certified Behavior Analyst”, an international certified behavior analyst, and a graduate-level certification. It is a standard developed by professionals and is constantly modified and updated to meet the changing needs of society. To provide better quality treatment services, our behavioral consultants are internationally certified analysts or are pursuing degrees.
