The world needs love and sympathy! And the behaviour of an 8-year-old boy has given a good example to show all of us. Christian saw Connor Crites crying in front of the school gate on the first day of school, and he took Connor’s hand as a gesture of goodwill. The touching picture was seen by Christian’s mother. She said that Connor had autism and was afraid to enter the school on the first day of school. Therefore she is very grateful for Christine taking Connor hand when he was upset!
When entering unfamiliar environments and routine, students with autism are more resistant than other students. Re-adapting to new classmates, class teachers, timetables, and even learning new rules of the class is a major challenge for students with autism. Especially in the important stage of elementary and middle school, it is more difficult to adapt. Students with autism are more likely to be afraid of new things and have feelings of uneasiness. Therefore, parents and teachers who have a better understanding of their emotional and behavioral characteristics, early preparation and learning skills will help them adjust to the new school year and easier to get involved in learning. Therefore, what children with autism and their parents need is not disfavor, but our concern and love, a mile to a smile.
