Have parents ever worried that they don’t have enough toys to play with their children? In fact, we can make good use of government resources to let our children to expliore different variety of toys.
The Hong Kong Public Library has a toy library. It is the first public toy library in Hong Kong and serves children aged 8 or below. There are four themed game areas in the hall, which are baby play area, imitation and imagination game area, creative game area and problem solving and puzzle area. They are designed according to the developmental needs and game modes of children in different age varieties.
Children, especially children with autism, can learn different techniques through games such as role-playing, imitating and motor skills, etc. There are many other children in the library which may help children, especially those with autism for their social skills development. For example, learning to share, to wait and for language development.
The toy library is open in sections, 45 minutes per section and can accommodate up to 40 people. Parents can visit the toy library or call 2921 0386 to appoint a game session within 7 days.
